Disaster Movie – 2008

½ Out of ****

What more is there to really say about Aaron Seltzer’s and Jason Friedman’s films that have not already been said in my, or another’s rants. They are hacks; the represent everything that is wrong with Western society and the fact that they can get steady work and others aspiring filmmakers who actually have a grain of talent cannot is nothing short of sickening. The fact that they can turn out such schlock at such a high rate deserves recognition I suppose, but having already suffered through Meet the Spartans earlier this year, the noose around my neck is about as tight as it can go.

Disaster Movie, which although is now clichéd to say, is quite aptly named. This dreck would sit in between Epic Movie down low and Meet the Spartans at the “top” on their movie resume; I have not seen Date Movie, and I don’t plan to. What more is there really to say about the plot? Friends, played by some no name actors take shelter from a series of disasters while hoards of unimaginably irrelevant and unnecessary characters meet up with them. Parts are sadistic and mean, as when a Juno lookalike gets her spine ripped out; yah, that’s pleasant…I love seeing pregnant women get mauled by Chipmunks and “acting” is non-existing, as is plot, plotting and every other aspect of filmmaking.

What is there more is there really to say? Nothing; they did not spend any time or effort making a movie, so I am going to follow suit with this review.
